This is more of a random Beck reference, but in the Mystery Science Theater episode Giant Spider Invasion, Mike Nelson riffs, "It's Beck!"

Here's the URL to the episode on YouTube: http://www.youtube.c...feature=related

Reference comes in at the very end.

I was just feeling like California is another country or something, but it isnt.

No, it really is.

I always feel that way when I go there. It looks and feels so different from anyplace I've been on the East Coast.

I read in Psychology Today that women tend to find men who appear physically "adult-like" more attractive, and men find women who appear physically younger more attractive. But Beck looks really young and always has, and I find him extremely attractive. Explain that, Psychology Today!

Seriously. All the guys I dig look like children with beards.

I'm slightly exaggerating...but only slightly.

I like older guys that younger. Go figure.

I was really happy today because even though my CD repair kit couldn't fix the scratch in my copy of MV, the d_skin CD protector did. Yay! No more skips on Milk & Honey!

Maybe they meant hormonally how women look more like their childhood selves than if you compared men?
or maybe it's just the usual excuse about maturity levels lol.

I had a lecture once about how back in the days when they thought a uterus was an animal, some biased scientific research led to the ideal woman changing from one who looked LIKE A WOMAN to one which was very very childlike.

Therefore inadvertantly causing skinny culture etc.

I think that was it anyway...need to find that paper.

random beck thread... I have rediscovered Mutations today...
I had never really played it, I even had the audacity to have Diamond Bollocks cut off of Static and stuck somewhere else in the Beck part of my Ipod (like 50-60 "albums" but really categories/shows/radio cuts/singles/playlists/whatever

Anyway I was kinda burnt out of my Information/Timebomb/Guero/Odelay circuit of late, and since my Ipod's clickwheel is broken(randomly doesn't scroll sometimes, buttons work tho), it got locked on Mutations in Album select so I played it. I haven't stopped since... running on like five times all the way through now...

Also, Tropicalia is a top-ten beck song for sure...

I wonder what the name of that thread was where someone linked to a blog or something with several tracks I didn't have before then, I think it included Diamond Bollocks by itself recorded from a record player and the more simple version of Feather In Your Cap..

Beck's wikipedia page says that Cellphone's Dead borrowed a lot from Primal Screaming's song Loaded.

which can be heard there.

have we discussed that?

I get how the ahh ahh ahh ahhs sound like it but not enough to be borrowed, or is it??

anyway I'm not the most informed one of yall.

I miss Untitled Song 2, that was a great one and another lost when my hard drive went down the drain.
