I was thinking, since I have not one but two old usernames hanging around, if it would be possible to just delete those?  I can change my username if I need to by contacting a mod anyway, right?

What do you mean by delete? Delete the accounts? If that's what you mean, I am really not sure we can do that. Or I should say, I'm not sure it would be such a good idea, since you posted under those names. I don't know what it would do to your old posts.

I guess what I should be asking is, what is it you want to accomplish? Maybe I can do something that would help.

Yeah, delete the accounts, since I don't use them anymore.  I just thought it might be nice to clean up the board a bit, but I suppose a lot of old threads would appear out of context.

I don't think it will delete your old posts. If I remember correctly the last time the mods banned the Hutch his topics and posts stayed but his username just changed to being listed as *guest freesoda* or something like that.

Yeah, but I don't really see a need to clean up the board. I mean...I have at least three old usernames. I never think of them as causing any kind of confusion or clutter.

i see an old post and say i don't remember that (all the time).

i'm against the idea of deleting old posts. it's history, don't delete history. and things would look weird and not make any sense. etc.

don't worry about embarrassing yourself. that's life. and it's the internet. just turn your head. lol. idk.

i've not had 2 usernames BUT my old posts show up as mellow_777. and my name know is mellow. but it's not 2 usernames. tp just changed my name cause i asked him too.

also i see posts sometimes and you know the user (by their username and know they have and maybe still do post here). but you can't click the profile. and it says guest under their name. now something happened there. cause it wasn't always that way. i hope you know what i mean cause i can't find an example right now. but i've seen it.

Yeah, this is pretty much how I look at it, too. I really would hate to leave holes in the threads. And I've been on Stewoo for...eight years? At least that. I am sure I have said things that I'd really cringe over if I read them now. But yeah...it's life.

I really don't get what it would accomplish. The posts would still be there, it would just say "guest" rather than being linked to a profile. What's the point of that? I don't get how that would be any less embarrassing. Am I missing something?

I don't mind if the posts are still there forever as long as my user name is not!  I want my user name gone.  That way the posts are anonymous.

They do?     Oh well. maybe best to just leave them alone then.    I delete a lot of old stuff on facebook and wanted to be able to do the same thing here.
