I saw this a little while ago on a blog. (Sorry if you already read this on Becktabs. I'm trying to cover all the bases. :P)

Josh's producer records 12 tracks for new Beck album!!

While Beck was in town here in Nashville, he recorded an albums worth of new songs to be released sometime after the current album "The Information", and Joe Baldridge, currently working on Josh's debut album, was chosen to produce the tracks. This has been a good year for Joe, working with other artists from Robert Randolph and Neil Finn to up and comers Family Force 5, as well as mixing Third Day's top five billboard chart hit album. Josh and Joe are working together on Josh's album with the aim of securing a 2007 major release. . .

I did a little Googling for Joe Baldridge. He's worked with sElf and Jewel and Steve Earle. He also seems to have alot of experience working on Christian and gospel music. Two of the bands he's worked with are the Newsboys and DC Talk.

Ben went on at his shambling trot, clinging
to the fence, wailing in his hoarse, hopeless voice.
The man played and went on, Ben keeping pace
with him until the fence turned at right angles,
and he clung to the fence, watching the people
move on and away.

Neil Finn is pretty major as well.

So how long did Beck stop off in Nashville recently for? I thought it was just for a few nights.

Baldridge? I never heard of him. I like Steve Earle though. I gotta check him out.

Wow, that's great. That would be the best move for him now: a batch of country/folk songs (preferably ones he's been working on over the years and not something made up on the spot like the last couple albums).

"Urban, who had previously twice been in rehab for drink and drug problems and had promised his green tea-drinking bride that he would not stray from the path of sobriety, was seen in here drinking champagne with the singer Beck.

"He was pretty wasted, drinking a lot," confirmed waitress Matty Montiel this week. "They were drinking Dom Perignon." "

Beck mentioned in the Daily Mail? :o Beck drinking Champagne in a huge glossy pick up joint? :o :P

''By Nashville standards, bar Twenty3 is as big city as it gets. It does not aspire to any downtown Tennessee charm, but instead aims to be as much like an international nightclub as possible: a huge, glossy pick-up joint full of young professionals indulging themselves.

This very public place all cocktails and plasma screens is where Keith Urban broke his promise to Nicole Kidman last month.

I bet that waitress has lost her job.

Yeah...I mean, they should know to keep their sources private!
