  • The thing is, we've taken away all the things that can't possibly have happened, so I suppose the only thing that's left, even though it seems really weird, must be the thing that did happen in fact!

Bike as in bicycle? You need lights for it?

yeah bicyle. yes you need lights, and it's forbidden to ride on the sidewalk. you have to be on the street. like, where the cars are.

Do you all really not know the word "scofflaw"? Did you look in a dictionary? It's defined in Webster's 11th as "a contemptuous law violator." (Raphi knew what it meant! I think...)

Well, it seems to have been coined in 1924. I guess that's why it makes me think of the '30s. I picture it being used in some early black-and-white movie. People who robbed banks were scofflaws!

Did you look in a dictionary?

this forum definitely needs to start using the dictionary, and also wikipedia or just google.
that has been bugging me but I am certain we can adopt those sites.
once you start using those methods of acquiring information you won't be able to stop, but it will be fun.

strangely, I know the word scofflaw, in fact well enough I would feel comfortable using it myself. not that I am thinking you all are dumb for not knowing it, but it is interesting and I wonder how I learned it.
