Question: Since TCR and TDS are both so topical, would it make sense for an extremely casual fan to watch the back episodes, or just takem them as they come?

take them as they come, for sure! I mean, I'm into Colbert to the extreme, but I've never seen a whole show from 2005-2007. it makes much more sense to stay in 2011.

the exception is if there is a particular event that really interested you (some elections or scandal or whatever) and you want to see how the shows covered them. in that case, watching an old show might be a good idea.

lol, I always watch Colbert, but it's only for enjoyment and not the epic fangirling. but when Tad the Building Manager (Paul Dinello) appeared I was totally like "omg looooooooook!!!!" *points at screen* & he and Stephen were being all gay-y, quite like Strangers with Candy!!

wow it's an SWC week. there's some kind of article about responding to email on the NYT website and this paragraph appears:

Are the scrolling names at the bottom of the Report people who have donated to Stephen Super PAC thing? I saw one name that had the last name "Baconnarwhal"

I didn't donate cuz I am not trusting how they're going to use the money...

I just watched yesterday's Daily Show and Colbert Report, and I am SUPER impressed by Andrew Bird's performance on the report. I won't be surprised if he actually does experience "the Colbert bump" in fame.

is he not already famous? I don't know that much about music but I have heard of him plenty of times before. (I hope for the Colbert bump, because what I've heard of him has been great.)

I guess it depends how you define famous. I know of many people who enjoy his work, but I've never say, seen him plastered on a billboard, or heard of him ranking high on any chart.

I just noticed that Stephen Colbert has a picture of Hugh Laurie on his shelves. This is after I noticed that Dr. Gregory House has a picture of Stephen Colbert on a shelf in his office.

I'm probably the last to notice this, but it's still neat.
